The end of term is nearly nigh, and we all seem to have survived OK. The last hurdle is this Friday night - 'Bright Hour'
The Navy people I used to know called this a 'Sod's opera' - a spoof show, put on by/for the ratings on a ship. Same idea here - spoofs, songs etc. about the college, put on by the students, generally about the staff.
The Admiral is on a week away in Sheffield - this is what they call the social event organiser - so I have been left as the Midshipman to chase up sketches. I've also put one together, a re-write of the Gilbert and Sullivan 'Policeman's Lot' song from Pirates of Penzance. Should be good for an alcohol fuelled laugh, full of in jokes.
Other stuff - we are doing a week on 'healing and wholeness' - the struggle is to stay awake in the talks - we are all very tired. Looking forward to about 5 weeks without essay deadlines!!!
