The annual Oxfordshire Historic Trust cycle ride has come and gone.
Eleanor and I braved the weather and the hills, and managed six churches in 3 hours.

Ellie managed some pretty impressive hills.
The college people sponsored us really rather generously - I think we were the only people from here who did it. Most people were put off by the threat of lightning!
Only one of the 'church-keepers' we met tried to give me a sermon on what is wrong with the Church of England (on discovering I am a learner-vicar), and we didn't have three hours to spare, so we effusively thanked him for his thoughts and moved on into the rain!
Good few days - all the family people have now moved in, and I lead a rather more twiddly morning prayer - Birth of BVM (aka Blessed Virgin Mary). All very religious, but that goes with the territory.
Tomorrow we have a Sunday School at last - but only because Mary and I have set one up for the college! Didn't expect that to be how it worked here, but at least it's all very realistic of the wider world...

I take it that forming a Sunday School is just a first step towards a major takeover bid for the whole organisation...
